The new Stargate SG-1 Children of the Gods - Final Cut was released this summer and none too soon for my worn out dvd needs replacing.
The edits of the updated version enhance the CGI and remove the nudity geared originally for the cable paying-customer. Since none of the subsequent episodes followed with such explicit scenes, it now matches the rest of the ten seasons and palatable for family viewing.
Tbe closed captioning upgrade enables the aging hearing impaired public to follow the dialog.
Stargate Universe, with its steamier episodes, appears to be reintroducing some of the sensuality in SG-1's pilot. Striving to reach that young adult audience, SGU focuses on the developing passion between Chloe Armstrong (Levesque) and Matthew Scott (Smith) very blatantly in the episode "Light." The producers referr to the 'more mature' subject matter.
