Stargate Universe's fifth episode, "Light" will air on Syfy this Friday at 9/8c (ch131.com and hulu.com upload within hours following)and we're in for some feverish play hinted at since the pilot.
Anticipate the budding romance between First Lieutenant Matthew Scott (Brian J. Smith) and the Harvard educated aide, Chloe Armstrong (Elyse Levesque), to provide an entanglement not allowed in the others.
Unlike the past series where the unrealized passion between Carter and O'Neill (people in a military chain of command are not supposed to have relationships) or Elizabeth Weir and all possible men under her command, SG-U offers the possibility of burgeoning relationships between the civilian and military mix in their happenstance existence.
Half the residents of Destiny had not chosen the profession of universe hopping, planet exploring or space ship traveling. I expect we'll see a microcosm of life on earth with the disperate passengers on this journey to the unexpected, since they cannot choose their destinations on the programmed starship.
